The 4th Arab Nurses and Midwives Conference, held from December 6–8 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, drew over 1,000 medical professionals from 22 Arab nations.
Arab Nurses and Midwives: Shaping the Future via the Economic Power of Healthcare was the theme of the conference, which highlighted the critical role that nurses and midwives play in promoting social and economic advancement within healthcare systems.
The conference, which was organized in cooperation with important partners such as the Qatar Armed Forces Military Medical Services, the Ministry of Public Health, the Primary Health Care Corporation, Qatar University, Sidra Medicine, Aspetar, and Qatar University, was evidence of the coordinated efforts to promote the field both domestically and internationally.
With more than 150 abstracts submitted and 53 presenters, the conference offered a program centered on four main areas: clinical practice, research, education, and leadership. In order to promote lasting change and investigate the economic impact of nursing and midwifery, participants took part in talks, seminars, and presentations. The keynote address that officially started the event was given by Chief Nursing Officer of Hamad Medical Corporation(HMC), Ms Mariam al-Mutawa The healthcare official emphasized, “By working together and being creative, we are showing how our profession is a foundation for social and economic development, both in Qatar and throughout the Arab world.” The 4th Arab Nurses and Midwives Conference exemplifies the value of teamwork in promoting innovation and advancement, according to Muna al-Hetmi, the HMC’s director of nursing education and the head of the organizing committee.
She stated saying ” They strive to enhance innovation in patient care assuring the efficacy of the national healthcare programmes. They form an important cornerstone of the healthcare deliver.”
